About Find DNS records

Domain name system, or DNS, is a network service that translates domain names into Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. Domain name system records are a set of text files that store information about your domain.

A DNS record is a data record that defines the relationship between a domain name and its IP address(es). This record can be either of two types: an Address Record or a Name Server Record. An IP address is used to identify and locate a computer or device with an Internet connection. Your domain's DNS record contains the IP address the world sees when requesting your website.

An Address Record maps domains to IPv4 addresses only (A records), whereas Name Server Records map domains to IPv4 and IPv6 addresses (NS records). Records can either resolve a single hostname to an IP address or can contain lists of hosts for which similar mapping rules apply.
